The below email is only applicable if you have a virtual (cloud) or dedicated server with Windows Operating System installed in it. Please ignore if your server doesn't have Windows Operating System installed.
We are a Microsoft SPLA license provider and they increase prices for all the partners every calendar year. We have been absorbing the price increase (amounting to ~28%) over the last 3 years but unfortunately, we will need to pass on the price increase that has happened this year as it is a ~12-15% increase. If your server is having a Windows Server operating system, you will see an increase in the price of your service from 1st Feb 2022. In case you have a prepaid plan, you will see a pro-rated charge of a difference amount sometime in January 2022.
Please note that this is a pass-on cost for us - everything that you pay as part of the license cost to us is paid to Microsoft every month.
The new pricing is as below:
Dedicated Servers Windows Server Std Edition - $30/m per 4 cores ea (& $15/m per each set of additional 2 cores) Windows Server DC Edition - $175/m per 4 cores ea (& $90/m per each set of additional 2 cores) SQL Server Web Edition - $30/m per 4 cores ea (& $15/m per each set of additional 2 cores) SQL Server Std Edition - $375/m per 4 cores ea (& $190/m per each set of additional 2 cores) SQL Server Ent Edition - $1400/m per 4 cores ea (& $700/m per each set of additional 2 cores)
For Virtual Servers (VPS), since the operating system price is bundled as part of the base server price, there will be an increase of $1.50/m per GB of RAM assigned to your VPS.
We understand that price increase is not ideal but as outlined earlier, we have been absorbing this cost over the past few years but it is now necessary to pass on the price increase to help us stay profitable. Microsoft has mentioned that they need to increase it for the amount of development work that is required to keep their products secured & updated, the latest features added, etc.
